Oak Creek Cattle
At Oak Creek Preserve, we proudly run a 120-head cow/calf operation across two thoughtfully managed parcels in Zolfo Springs, Florida. Our herd is built on Brangus cows bred to English bulls (Angus and Hereford), producing calves that are hardy, healthy, and well-suited for both Florida’s climate and the needs of today’s cattle industry.
We focus on raising high-quality calves for the commercial beef market, supplying steers to other farms and ranches to finish out. This approach allows us to concentrate on what we do best: responsible herd management, healthy calves, and resilient pastures.
Our Holistic Ranching Practices
Even though our cattle ultimately move on to feed other beef operations, how we raise them here matters. At Oak Creek Preserve, we combine holistic management and regenerative principles to ensure both animal health and land stewardship:
-
Rotational Grazing that protects pastures, builds soil, and regenerates native grasses.
-
Low-Stress Handling to support calm temperaments and overall wellness.
-
No Hormones or Routine Antibiotics, relying instead on natural supplements and herbs to strengthen immunity.
-
Mechanical and Manual Weed Control, keeping chemicals off our land and water.
Rooted in Respect
Every calf is born and raised here on the ranch with care, respect, and attention to natural rhythms. We see our work not just as ranching, but as stewarding land, animals, and community.
Our operation may serve the commercial cattle industry, but our values remain deeply rooted in regenerative agriculture, animal welfare, and environmental responsibility. Oak Creek Preserve is proud to stand as a ranch that raises cattle the right way—honoring the land, nurturing healthy herds, and contributing to a stronger agricultural future.
